Each summer, Manchester’s music scene finds a home like no other – Castlefield Bowl, where history, live performance and water meet in spectacular style.

To unlock every inch of audience capacity for SJM Concerts’ Sounds of the City concert series, Star Live’s 22‑metre Orbit stage was built across a spur of the Bridgewater Canal – a stage that quite literally floated above water. Heavy‑duty beams spanned the canal to create a rock‑solid platform, delivering crystal‑clear sight lines and serious rigging capacity for the touring artists who lit up the stage.

And, tucked into the terraces of the roofed amphitheatre, our bespoke 5m x 5m FoH build keeps the whole show running with precision.
