Hamlet Hail to the Thief

Star Live was appointed by Factory International to deliver audience infrastructure for Hamlet: Hail to the Thief, a striking new production at Aviva Studios, Manchester. The production combined Shakespeare’s text with Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief album as its soundtrack, with creative collaboration from Thom Yorke.

To achieve this, Star Live designed and installed bespoke grandstand seating that closely replicated the auditorium of the RSC’s Stratford home placinged the audience within the performance environment. The configuration immersed spectators in the production’s world of light, sound and motion, while meeting the venue’s strict safety and spatial requirements.

Through close collaboration with the creative and technical teams, Star Live ensured the seating solution delivered both practically and creatively. The result was an environment that enhanced the audience experience and supported the successful staging of this high-profile collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company, Factory International and Thom Yorke.
